Transform one of the most cluttered spaces in your home into an organized, luxurious storage zone.
One of the hardest-working spaces in any home is the cabinet beneath the bathroom sink. Unfortunately, it’s also one of the easiest places to become a cluttered catch-all for hair dryers, curling irons, toiletries, cleaning products, and everything else that doesn’t seem to have a home.
The biggest challenge? Plumbing.
The drainpipe and water supply lines take up valuable space, making standard storage bins almost impossible to use. Fortunately, with a few smart organizing products and a little planning, you can transform this awkward cabinet into one of the most functional—and beautiful—spaces in your home.
Here are my favorite ways to maximize every inch.
1. Work Around the Plumbing—Don’t Fight It
Instead of trying to fit one large organizer underneath the sink, divide the cabinet into three zones:
- Left side
- Center (around the plumbing)
- Right side
This allows every inch of storage to be used while leaving the plumbing accessible if repairs are ever needed.
2. Use Vertical Space
Most bathroom cabinets waste over half of their storage height.
Adding stackable shelves instantly doubles your storage space.
Perfect for:
- Extra shampoo
- Hair products
- Facial skincare
- First aid supplies
- Cleaning products
3. Store Hair Tools in Pull-Out Baskets
Hair dryers, curling irons, and flat irons are some of the hardest items to organize.
Instead of tossing them into the cabinet, use pull-out wire baskets or deep acrylic bins.
They:
- Keep cords contained
- Prevent scratches
- Make everything easy to grab
- Allow tools to cool safely before storing
4. Keep Small Items Together
Tiny products create the biggest mess.
Separate them into clear acrylic drawers or divided organizers.
Great for:
- Hair ties
- Bobby pins
- Cotton balls
- Cotton swabs
- Makeup sponges
- Travel-size products
Clear organizers also make it easy to see when you’re running low.
5. Reserve the Center for Tall Items
The plumbing naturally creates an awkward center section.
Use that space for:
- Lotion bottles
- Hand soap refills
- Hair spray
- Dry shampoo
- Cleaning sprays
A shallow pull-out tray makes these products easy to reach without digging through the cabinet.
My Favorite Organization Rule
Every item should have a permanent home.
If you’re constantly moving products around just to reach something in the back, your storage system isn’t working.
Beautiful organization isn’t about buying more containers—it’s about creating a system that’s easy to maintain.

Luxury isn’t about owning more—it’s about making the things you already own easier and more enjoyable to use every single day.
