There are plenty of things in our home that are useful, pretty, or convenient. But this list is different.
These are the things that have quietly become part of the rhythm of our everyday life. They are the things I turn on, refill, reach for, check on, or appreciate almost without thinking about it. Most of them are not extravagant at all. They simply make life at home easier, more comfortable, cleaner, happier, or a little more enjoyable.
And that, to me, is what a little luxury really is.
This is also not a list of random products I went looking for so I could create a shopping post. These are things we genuinely use in our own home—many of them every single day—and would immediately notice if they disappeared tomorrow.

OUR ROBOT VACUUM AND MOP ** Could not live without! Especially with pets. Have had one for the last eight years.
This may be the hardest-working member of our household. We have one on each level and run them twice a day.
With pets, people, open doors, everyday crumbs and everything else that finds its way onto the floor, having a robot routinely vacuuming and washing the floors makes an enormous difference.
It doesn’t eliminate normal cleaning, of course, but it keeps everything under control in between. There is something wonderfully luxurious about realizing the floors have been cleaned while you were busy doing something completely unrelated. Expensive but worth every penny!

The Litter-Robot took a chore that needed constant attention and made it considerably easier to manage. It keeps the litter area cleaner, reduces the amount of daily scooping, and is one of those purchases that quickly becomes part of normal life. ** And nobody will know you have cats, because there is no smell! Worth every penny!!!
It was an investment, but convenience becomes valuable when you benefit from it every single day.
OUR CAT FEEDING STATION
Our cats also have two very simple things that make everyday care easier: a bubbling water fountain and a gravity feeder.
The fountain keeps fresh circulating water available, and the feeder is the uncomplicated, non-electric kind that you fill from the top and that releases a little more food as the bowl empties.
Neither is particularly glamorous, but both eliminate those tiny repetitive jobs that add up during the day.
THE CAT TREES THEY ACTUALLY USE
Another one of those things that I would make sacrifices for because it looks amazing and is extremely durable. It is expensive but worth every penny!!! We have one upstairs and one downstairs. And, they sell replacement parts so that you don’t have to buy the whole tree again as it starts to wear out. Our cats love it! They climb them, scratch them, sleep on them and survey the household from them. At this point, they are less an accessory and more part of the cats’ everyday living space.

My morning cup of joy! I’ve had several different machines, and this is my favorite! Easy to use, easy to clean, and it doesn’t take a lot of counter-space. And, it makes a phenomenal cappuccino!
HAIR DRYER HOLDER
My greatest pet peeve? Blow drying my hair. This contraption makes it much easier and allows me to style my hair using two hands and not hurting my arms. It holds the dryer for you!
MOUTHWASH DISPENSER
Just makes me feel bougie! Put your cup on the shelf and it automatically dispenses the perfect amount of mouthwash into your cup. I love this little contraption. When my first one wore out (after a long time), I immediately bought another.
LUMINARA REMOTE-CONTROLLED CANDLES * No other LED flame candles can compare. They look REAL!
I love the warmth candlelight gives a room, especially in the evening. But I turn them on in the morning and let them flicker until I go to bed at night.
What I do not want to do is walk all over the house turning numerous candles on and then retracing my steps later to turn them all off.
Remote-controlled flameless candles give me the atmosphere without the work. With one click, several candles can come on at once and a room instantly feels warmer and more inviting.
This is exactly the kind of little home luxury I love: something beautiful that also makes life easier.

I am very into scent and the way that my home smells when people walk int. I have tried just about every product that claims to scent a home, at all price points. And I always come back to the Wallflowers. I LOVE this brand. It smells up the whole house and lasts for a long time. These are two of my favorite scents, but there are so many to choose from. You can also adjust the scent intensity to your liking.
I use Bath & Body Works Wallflowers throughout the house, and I also have favorite candles that I return to because I love the way they make our home feel.
There is something comforting about walking into your own house and immediately recognizing its scent.
OUR AIR PURIFIERS
Air purifiers are another example of something working quietly in the background that I would absolutely notice if it stopped. We have one in the family room and one in the master bedroom.
With pets and everyday household activity, they help keep the air feeling fresher and cleaner. It also keeps pet hair and dust from settling.
You don’t necessarily stand in front of an air purifier admiring it, but clean air is one of those luxuries that matters precisely because you live with it every day.
PET HAIR LINT REMOVER
Living with animals means accepting a certain amount of pet hair. It does not mean I have to leave it on the furniture.
I keep a furniture lint and pet-hair remover close by because it is so much faster than pulling out the vacuum every time I notice hair on a sofa or chair. Nothing works as well as this for quick pet hair removal.
It is a small thing, but I probably use it far more often than many supposedly more important household products.
THE BIRD FEEDER THAT KEEPS INTERRUPTING MY DAY
One of my favorite unnecessary distractions is our bird feeder with a camera.
Every time a bird arrives, my phone lets me know. I can not only see the bird live, but it tells me the name of the bird. And apparently I am incapable of ignoring it.
I love seeing the birds up close and watching who has come to visit throughout the day. It has turned something as simple as feeding backyard birds into a little source of entertainment.
THE BIRD FEEDERS THAT MAKE LESS MESS
We have a couple of these in the backyard. The birds love it and it keeps seed from falling on the ground. Best bird feeder we’ve ever had.
THE NO-MESS BIRDSEED WE CONSTANTLY REFILL
Because the birds—and the aforementioned squirrels—are enthusiastic customers, we go through quite a bit of birdseed.
I prefer no-mess birdseed because it helps reduce the pile of shells and debris underneath the feeders.
It is one of those practical purchases that makes doing something I enjoy considerably easier to maintain.
MY WATERING CAN
This is one of the simplest things on the list and one of the things I use most often. I am constantly watering something. Having a watering can that pours well, feels comfortable to carry and is easy to grab makes tending plants a pleasure instead of another household task. You can get this can into small plants and planters without spills.
MY FAVORITE LAUNDRY DUO
Laundry is still laundry.
But wonderful-smelling sheets, towels and clothes make it considerably more satisfying. These scents are long lasting, all natural and give you clean and soft laundry.
MY BATH PILLOW
There are practical luxuries, and then there are luxuries whose entire purpose is simply to make something more comfortable.
My bath pillow falls firmly into the second category. Now that I have it, my bubble baths would not be the same without it. THIS bath pillow is worth every penny!
MY NIXPLAY DIGITAL FRAME
This may be the most meaningful item on the entire list. We have four in our home.
My Nixplay frame brings photographs that might otherwise sit unseen on a phone or computer back into our daily life. Family trips, birthdays, holidays, childhood photographs and ordinary moments appear throughout the day. Sometimes I walk past and see something I had almost forgotten.
I have used it as part of birthday traditions too, loading earlier birthday photographs so those memories become part of the celebration again. Technology is at its best when it helps us enjoy something deeply human. This one does.
FAVORITE, LONG LASTING DOG TREATS WITH INDESTRUCTABLE HOLDERS
We’ve tried many dog treats, but few keep the dogs busy or last very long. And eventually, the plastic dispensers get eaten by the dogs, along with the treats. Not this one! Our Aussies, who love to chew, take almost 20 minutes to finish these treats. And they have not destroyed the containers, even though they do chew on them. These are great when you have guests over or just want keep your dog busy.

Stanley Cup
My Stanley cup seems to accompany me everywhere, and I regularly drink my protein water from it. They have become such an automatic part of my routine that leaving them off this list felt dishonest. I used to think it was ridiculous for people to pay that much for a drink holder. Well, I found out why they do! This thermos keeps my drinks cold for up to 12 hours!
